Alamo is a small town nestled in the San Ramon Valley, between the towns of Danville and Walnut Creek. With its miles of flat walking paths perched below mature trees, multi million dollar one acre homes offering impressive views of Mt. Diablo, it’s overall well kept country charm with rustic stables still present, Alamo remains one of the most desirable cities in the Bay Area. Alamo offers Towhomes as well as massive estates and is a quiet & safe community many are proud to call home.

Alamo was founded in the mid 19th century. The area was called Alamo which means "poplar" in Spanish. Before that the Tatcan Indians lived in this area during the 18th century. Alamo is an unincorporated community and does not have a government of its own. Police and fire services are provided by the Countra Costa and San Ramon Valley services. There is a trail known as Iron Horse Trail that runs through Alamo, it was first a railroad that has now been converted to a trail for bikers and pedestrians.

The well-known Round Hill Country Club opened in the 1960s, famous for its golf course and its luxurious homes. Round Hill expanded when streets were paved going up the hills and more beautiful estates were built with marvelous views of the valley. Alamo continues to grow however not expansively as the city ordinances are rather strict.
