Located along the north side of Interstate 580, Dublin is a suburb of the San Francisco/Oakland area. Dublin Boulevard runs parallel to Highway 580 which was a part of the old Lincoln Highway, where it meets the present-day Foothill Road. Dublin offers a convenient way of life with a variety of new communities continuing to sprout up along the 580 as well as tasteful shopping malls.
Several historical sights can be found. The Murray Schoolhouse, founded in 1856, the Old Cemetery, established in 1859, the Green Store, opened in 1860.During the 60s, the first housing tracts were built in Dublin, and the town from a rural community grew into a residential area. Dublin is now easily accessed by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) serving this community. Dublin is considered a "city" not a "town".
Many young couple or retirees are finding the communities in Dublin to be ideal for a low maintenance way of living with many new home communities offering pools, gyms, local parks etc… New communities such as Dublin Ranch along Tassajara Road offer luxury housing. Homes here are nestled among the Golf Courses and some properties offer beautiful views and gated neighborhoods.
